Exterior Architecture

Perched on a small hill far back from the road is Green Lawn Abbey mausoleum.  Reminiscent of the ancient temples of Greece and Rome, the neoclassical architecture of the Abbey is fitting for a mausoleum.

The first floor features an arched entry with granite vouissoirs while the second floor boasts the classic 4-column pedimented temple form.  The gabled roof of the central bay is of Spanish tile.  Two sets of stairs lead up to the second floor portico.

Stained glass windows are on all sides of the building while the smaller Tuscan columns adorn just the front of the second floor.
